Kenneth Peshlakai
I am a Navajo artist from the four corners. I was born and raised by my grandmother in the traditional Navajo lifestyle. In 1998 I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to live and work. The city has a rich amalgamation of artists, cultures, and spirituality and no lack on inspiration for my work.
Since moving from the reservation I graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts with a BA in Studio Arts. I have participated in Santa Fe Indian Market for several years showing an array of work from Jewelry to Sculpture.
As an artist I am not limited. I work in many different materials including stone, metal, wood, and acrylic paint. How I convey my thoughts and concepts about journey and culture are most important and are directly reflected in the colors, textures, and symbolic imagery of my art.
